Yes, you can straighten your hair after getting a perm. Try and wait at least 48 hours as it's really hard on your hair to do two chemical services in one day. Make sure your hair is in good condition-use a hot oil reconstruction treatment such as cholesterol the day prior to straightening. Afterwards, you will need to keep it in good condition, too. Make sure you use a good shampoo and daily conditioner. If you cannot afford to buy one in a salon or supply house, try a leave-in conditioner such as Infusium 23. You might also try waiting a week or so, often people don't like their perms because they are so different than the hair they are used to. Waiting will give the perm time to relax and give you time to get used to your new look.

Have you ever gotten a perm before? No, you are not supposed to, it would ruin your perm. {Perm means somthing along the line of PERMANENT!!}

You can straighten it everyday if you want to, it will only come out faster. so, try to straighten it only once or twice a week to keep your permed hair. What's the point of getting a perm, if you are going to straighten it?

If your hair is "virgin" (not dyed or chemically processed), it won't be harmed by getting a straight perm. But the more it has been processed, the more it will be abused. You should NOT perm heavily bleached/highlighted hair.

You probably dye it, straighten/curl, or perm it too much!!

Anything can be bad for your hair if you use it in excess, otherwise, no.

straighten?you can go to the hair salons. It's the perm process.

Nothing. There is no product that can was out a relaxer because it is a chemical that is meant to permanently straighten your hair, hence why it is called a Perm. The only way to get rid of a perm is to cut it out.

You need To get a perm to straighten your hair. and after flat iron it.

i use perm to straighten out my hair so it wont be nappy for a couple of months

It depends on what kind of hair perm you got. With a straightening perm(rebonding),you actually need to use straightening shampoo to straighten it to keep your hair that way for months. If you got a curly perm however, don't take the risk until your curly perm has fully grown out.If not, you waste your money that you spent to curl your hair because your hair will become straight too quickly and the perm won't last for as long as you would expect.

With a plug-in hair straightener, there should be no problem straightening your child's hair. Getting it professionally done - a perm - with a professional, means subjecting the child to chemicals and may not be the best idea.

It is an at home, self-help permanent that is used either to straighten or curl your hair.

it might be if you do not have a wavey hair that's from birth because if you do after some time it will turn to its real style.

relaxer and straight perm are basicly the same thing

If you are a black person, the perm will straighten your hair. However, you can still get whatever hairstyle you want after receiving the perm except for an afro of coarse. If you are another ethincity, then the perm will curl your hair so most likely your hairstyle will be curly. I hope I answered your question.

I've never had a perm before but my hair is naturally curly. It is VERY difficult to take care of and is always looking bad and getting tangled. I'm going to straighten my hair this weekend because of this. I would strongly suggest to keep your hair straight if that's the way it is. :)

You could perm it to be straight, or you could straighten it every day with a straightener.

I would say a perm if you have thin hair. but if you have thick hair, straighten it.

No, after getting a perm you cannot get your hair wet for at least 24 hours

u can either wash it, perm it , brush it or press it with a hot comb or a flat iron

Wash your hair before you perm, but don't use conditioner. Damp hair is easier to wrap around perm rollers, and it's going to be a while before you can re-wash your hair after the perm! After the perm is finished, do not wash your hair for 48 hours, as the chemical bonds are still setting. If you wash your hair too early, it may effect the perm results. I'd also suggest getting your hair trimmed after a perm.

You will have to wait until it has completely grown out of your hair. For example: if you hair is 5 inches long you cannot put in a perm until those 5 inches have grown out and been cut away. The reason for this is because when you chemically straighten the hair the bonds inside the hair are separated and cannot be joined together again.

Yes - as getting a perm will do little to change the contents of the inner hair shaft and follicle.
