YES
Doubtful. There is a large height and width difference.
235/45/17 OR 215/55/17
Doubtful, since the radial is bigger on the r17...
You can but your speedometer will read 1 mph slow and fuel mileage will be adversely effected. Stick with the OEM size that the engineers determined was best for your car.
You can install 235/50-17 or 215/60-17 and that is about the only sizes you should use.
Yes all four or 2 in the same axle.might not be manufactures specification but it works great

Lots of vehicles.
I Have just bought mags with 235 / 45 R17 97W tyres - for my 2000 VW Golf - the wheel bolts are 5 / 100 and offset is 32-45 apparently normally tyres used for falcon or firebird.. i have been told the wheels are ok but the width e.g 235 is too big for golf and will adversely affect the steering - they advised a 215 or less / 45
Standard 215-60-R15 tires can be replaced with 215-50-R17 tires by first installing new rims. The vehicle may need to be raised with a suspension lift kit to achieve sufficient clearance.
