You could, depending on company policy and how many days you were out without a note. If you dont have a note and need one then go to a walk in clinic and explain your situation and maybe they will give you an excuse/note.

∙ 11y agoYes. Even an absence for good cause is an absence, and depending on a company's policy could result in suspension or termination. It is up to the local unemployment office to make a determination, to decide if a firing was for cause or if it was unjustified.

∙ 13y agoYes. If you have a sufficient explanation for your absense (which a doctors note would be) then they have no right to fire you. Unless of course you are still on a temporary contract/probation.
You should have a copy of your work contract to refer to which will help more.
