As a matter of fact you can actually, But it is quite confusing when you explain over the Internet

You need to use a similar year trans from a 3.0L
No more often than any other manufacturer.
In my 1995 it is a hydrolic one. I believe the newer years after that have an electric one.
No. the trucks with beds have Chrysler transmissions. The cab/chassis truck has an Aisin trans.
In old Dodges 1950s to 1980s there was one adjustable band for low reverse and if it needs adjustment its worn out. Newer cars, NO.
You didn't state the make, model, or year of the car. On most newer model cars the transmission is computer controlled. A flashing OD light means there is a problem. Take the car to the dealer or to a good independent transmission shop. Avoid chain transmission shops.
A Mopar special tool and a star scan is required to check the transmission fluid in any of the newer model dodge, chrysler, and jeeps. The fluid level is very temperature sensitive It is impossible to get the level correct with out a scan tool.

can you change the 4 speed transmission on a 1994 kawasaki 1500 to a newer 5 speed
Overdrive warning? Does it say "Overdrive Off" or "OD Off"? If so, it's not a warning... just an indicator. Most newer vehicles have this feature. On my Explorer it was on the end of the gear shifter. I just pressed the button and turned overdrive off. All it does it change the shift points for your transmission... saves a little gas when turned on (it's usually on by default). It makes my tranny shift at higher rpms so as to "get more" out of each gear... hope this helps.
ATF+3 or the newer ATF+4 ONLY!!!!! Using Dexron/Mercon or ATF will cause problems with the transmission and due to there not having the proper additives for the correct lubrication of the gears and can cause the transmission to 'burn up'.
