Answer , maybe not the one you want, butThe swap can be accomplished WITH A LOT OF EXPERTISE, it ain't a Saturady afternoon in the driveway job for an avaerage mechanic. The mecahnics of the job such as the transmission (and this is assuming you are going from an auto to an auto OR a manual to a manual)will bolt up properly. And all of the related drive train hardware will also just be an in place part of the job.Thsi rest is in my opinon not worth the effort. 1) entirely new wiring harness (from the old 2.0. AND DO NOT TAKE THIS SWITCH LIGHTLY< AS it is a complex and complicated task. 2)The exhaust system is really gonna upset you. 3)The entire engine fuel control system, the ECM and all related sensors are different and this is where the new harness comes in as a necessity. 4) Do you care if the engine weighs more the springs can probably handle? if not , then no Problemo, but Mitsubishi doesnt think so or they wouldn't have put different ones in the 2.0 Vs. the 1.8. that's your call. 3) again...the old computers all have to be switched, the shift points are different as are the ALL of the engine ignition components, they all rely on the original 2.0 stuff to even work (At All)4) It can be done but I really don't think ive been a fool for lesser things.........
