well these are obscure today as we know but I was going to buy a guitar with it, my best advice is if its got locks on the top of the nut like the traditional floyd rose go for it, although it seems kind of redundant because the original locking nut has duplicated many times for a reason.
now if your old locking nut broke that may be a different story, might not work as good but think of it this way, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Because if I'm right the extra bullet in the string at the headstock is there to stop the friction or limit movement of the string near the top of the headstock to ensure tuning stabillity.
so in conclusion its pointless to switch I'd say , if the old one broke replace with a licensed one as licensed floyd rose nuts work just as good in experience.
how old is a Floyd rose
Floyd Rose was created in 1977.
if its routed for (cut for) it absolutely, i put an original floyd rose which is the higher end model in a bc rich that had a licensed one , if the guitar doesnt have a floyd rose in it like just a normal bridge you'll have to do some routing.
you can put a floyd rose on pretty much any guitar , but since you'd have to spend a lot to cut wood out of the guitar and all that go with a Kahler 2200 or hybrid , there's other brands which you can go with that do the same things as floyd roses without the wood cutting. it costs 400$ last time i checked to route a guitar for a floyd rose, either spend that or half that on a kahler, its up to you
well for a Floyd rose or anything that goes up or down you want to: take the back plate off now unscrew the screws inside of it until they come out take the springs off and it should fall out if its an original Floyd rose or anything like that its worth a bit of cash..50-200$
The function of a Floyd Rose Tremolo is to help keep a guitarist in tune even in extreme changes in pitch. Its locking design is considered to be revolutionary.
One can purchase a Floyd Rose guitar directly from them at their website. Additionally, many stores such as Guitar Center and Amazon carry these guitars.
Floyd D. Rose invented the Floyd Rose Tremolo at the end of the 70s. This tremolo is famous for its versatille use and possibility to pitch the note up instead of down.
Floyd Rose.
The Floyd Rose is particularly appealing to guitarist because it is an add on extension for a guitar. This add on will help the guitar player produce more vibrato while playing the guitar.
they both do a lot of the same things, Kahler doesn't stay in tune as long but the hybrid model can go into hard tailed mode meaning like you can all of a sudden switch to normal guitar mode and swap to any tuning or string gauge if you grow weary of it. Plus it can mount right onto a guitar where as a Floyd rose needs to cut the inside of your guitar to install the springs and stuff. both can do divebombs, flutter.. everything, on youtube for a very comprehensive look check out Floyd rose vs kahler DMO guitars is awesome for guitar tech info.
