Yes but, if you have Motrin that is a better choice.

you can take Tylenol and advil....when my son was running a high fever..dr.told me to alternate the 2 every 2 hrs instead of just taking Tylenol every 4 hours
Yes, you can. You can alternate Tylenol (acetaminophen) with Motrin (ibuprofen) every four hours. This can significantly help when trying to fight a fever.
You can safely swap Tylenol and ibuprophen every two hours minimal. doing it this way is the best way to keep pain, fever and immflamation down.
The maximum amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol, Motrin) that can be taken a day is 4000mg. The maximum one dose (every 4 to 6 hours) is 1500mg. Whether you make a combination of oral and anal doesn't matter as long as you do not cross those limits. -Jennapsyche
Two - every 4 hours, and even three - every 6 hours. The matter is that the maximum dose of acetaminophen for adults is 1000mg at a time, and 4000mg per day. Tylenol 3 contains 300mg of acetaminophen. That is, not more than three Tylenol doses at a time.
No, this would exceed the recommended dose of acetaminophen. However, you could take just a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) with the Tylenol 3. It is the ingredient in Tylenol PM that makes you sleepy, without the extra acetaminophen.Tylenol PM contains 500 mg of acetaminophen and 25 mg of diphenhydramine.Tylenol 3 contains 300mg of acetaminophen and 30mg of codeine.Recommended doses for adults are:300-500 mg of acetaminophen every 4-6 hours, or up to 1000 mg every 6 hours; not to exceed 4000 mg of acetaminophen during a day25-50 mg diphenhydramine every 4-6 hours, not to exceed 50-100 mg every 4-6 hours
No! If a baby has a fever over 99oF for more than 24 hours they need to see a doctor.
The Tylenol contains Benadryl, which causes drowsiness. So probably 30 minutes before you go to sleep is a good time to take it.Interestingly, as stated above, Tylenol does contain Diphenhydramine HCl (Benadryl), which is used for allergies, sleep aid, and motion sickness.only Tylenol pm has benadryl in it. you can take regular Tylenol any time of the day
Tylenol 325mg - the dose of Tylenol PR- per rectum or via rectal administration q4h- every 4 hours prn - as needed.
it is not a bandage. it is a wash clothe wet with very cold water to bring down the fever. it has to be dipped in cold water and replaced back on the forehead often. fever is treated with Tylenol and cold water. it takes about a half hour for the Tylenol to bring the fever down. always follow the instructions on the Tylenol bottle. do not over dose. fever is a good thing. fever helps your body kill the germs that made you sick. but if a fever goes more than 24 hours, go to the doctors. small children and babies get high fevers easily. i used to have to put my children in the kitchen sink with cold water until they shivered. (yes, they cried!...so did I.) do not let a fever last long as it can hurt babies brains.
Since Darvocet has Tylenol in it, you cannot take them within 4 hours of each other. Try alternating Darvocet with ibuprofen - take the ibuprofen every 6 to 8 hours, and if you need Darvocet, take it at least 3 hours after the ibuprofen. That way, you won't get too much Tylenol, but it will relieve your pain better.
If your son is a baby take him to the doctor ASAP,much too high fever for a baby, if he is toddler baby aspirin if the fever does not come down after a couple of hours , take him to the Doctor as well, if he is a teenager a few days in bed until the fever breaks with some Tylenol
