The maximum amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol, Motrin) that can be taken a day is 4000mg. The maximum one dose (every 4 to 6 hours) is 1500mg. Whether you make a combination of oral and anal doesn't matter as long as you do not cross those limits.

What to consume if you have got a temperature?

Eat what you desire to eat food, if you feel hungry. Drinking lots of fluid will help lower your temperature. Tylenol is an over-the-counter fever reducer. If you have a high fever that Tylenol will not reduce, see a doctor.

What to take for lower body temperature?

Generally for a low fever, regular Tylenol will bring your fever down. But take the smallest number, just one not two because Tylenol can damage your liver if taken in excess. Children should not be given Aspirin (ASA) to reduce fever.

Does codine lower a fever?

It can if it's truly Vicodin. Hydrocodone (generic Vicodin) has a mixture of Tylenol (Acetaminophen) in it. Depending on the strength, (5/325 - means it has 5 mg Hydrocodone and 325 mg Tylenol) within it. Dosage of 5/500 means that it has 500 mg of Tylenol within it, and so on... Some other names of similar drugs to Vicodin (Norco) does NOT contain Tylenol. Norco is only the Hydrocodone (pain reliever portion) and would not reduce a fever. Lortab however, does contain the Hydrocodone AND the Tylenol.

Should you wait out a fever by not taking ibuprofen or Tylenol to let it break?

You can wait if you want to. Many people don't like the sweating that usually comes with a fever breaking and if your fever is 101 F or lower there is no need to reduce it. However, a fever of 103 or higher in adults should be lowered quickly and if it is persistent for several days you should see a doctor.

Can you take Tylenol and then 2 hours later take Motrin to lower a child's fever?

You can mix the two because they are not the same medication. However I would not take anything else with acetaminophen (AKA Tylenol) such as NyQuil or Neoproxin (AKA Motrin) You should always consult a doctor before you do anything with medication.

Can a person become dependent upon glycerin suppositories for bowel movements?

By overusing suppositories or anything that induces a bowel movement you can in effect weaken the smooth muscle tissue of your bowels and disrupt the normal rhythm. If you're having problems and currently relying on suppositories, lower the amount of times you use them during the week, look for natural alternative methods, and only use them when absolutely necessary.

Does Tylenol with codeine make you drowsy while driving?

Codeine is metabolized into morphine by the liver. This is a powerful opiate. Depending on the strength of the tablets and if your body is used to them they will cause drowsiness. Lower doses may not give drowsiness, but a larger dose tablet will make you drowsy as well as other side effects.

When taking Tylenol and ibuprofen together should you lower the dosage of each?

Most Doctors would try to avoid having you taking both as together they can thin your blood. However, should you need to take both, as Ibuprofen (Naproxen) is an NSAID and reduces inflammation, you should take only 1000mg's of Tylenol (2 - 500mg tablets) and 2 Ibuprofen (2 - 500mg Ibuprofen) every 6-8 hours as needed for pain & inflammation.
