Darvocet already has acetaminophen in it, so you definitely need to be careful how much other acetaminophen you are taking. The maximum dose you can safely take (and even this is pushing it) is 1000mg per 6 hours. The general rule is no more than 4000mg in a 24 hour period. Darvocet can contain up to 650mg per dose. So simply taking two Darvocet may already put you over the limit of your safe dose of acetaminophen.
It is safe to mix ibuprofen with acetaminophen based products. It is also safe to take ibuprofen with the propoxyphene which is the main ingredient in Darvocet.
One of each wont hurt but keep in mind, Darvocet is propoxyphene with APAP(Tylenol) most common doseage is 100/650. T3's are Codeine and Tylenol 30/300. Its not reccomended to take more than 1000mg of Tylenol in a sitting and not more than 4000mg in a day, its very hard on your liver. Also both of these medications cause respatory depression (ie you might fall asleep and stop breathing) so be careful make sure you dont take more than one each (or your over your APAP limit)
Partially YES, they are all opioids, however the primary ingredient is different in each one. Dextropropoxyphene is the opioid in Darvocet. Hydrocodone is the opioid in vicodin. Codeine is the opioid in Tylenol 3.
It is not suggested that a stimulant (codeine) is taken with any other opiate or pain reliever without a doctor's order. Check with your doctor - you must have been prescribed codeine for a specific medical condition.
No, you should not take two pain medications at the same time. Separate them by 4-6 hours. Both of these are habit forming, so don't take extra or take them together. Overdosing on these medications can cause confusion, dizziness, and trouble breathing. You might even pass out.
You can take Tylenol 3 and Darvocet together, however, one or the other needs to be a low dosage form.
Tylenol 3 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, the latter being a narcotic opiate. Darvocet contains Acetaminophen and Proproxyphen, the latter also being a narcotic opiate.
If both were high dosages, you could put yourself at risk for a Tylenol over dose, or a mixture of opiates that lead to respiratory failure, CNS depression leading to Coma and eventually death.
You might take acetaminophen with ibuprofen. You might take acetaminophen with Naprosyn. But you CAN'T take ibuprofen and naproxen (Naprosyn) together, as long as both drugs are NSAID and works on the same receptors. Naproxen is a little bit more powerful than ibuprofen.
Can you take Nyquil and Darvocet together
No. Tylenol has acetaminophen as its active ingredient. Ibuprofen belongs to a separate class of drugs known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and is the active ingredient in products such as Motrin and Advil.
Since Darvocet has Tylenol in it, you cannot take them within 4 hours of each other. Try alternating Darvocet with ibuprofen - take the ibuprofen every 6 to 8 hours, and if you need Darvocet, take it at least 3 hours after the ibuprofen. That way, you won't get too much Tylenol, but it will relieve your pain better.
Can you take Nyquil and Darvocet together
Yes. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen (pain killer in Lortab/Vicodin) have different mechanisms of action and can be taken together.
It is not advisable to mix these different types of pain relievers.
no, do not take them together, different people react differently to pain killers, alternate them to see which is better for you. combined they have too much Tylenol and could cause liver damage
can i take cefuroxime and prednisone together
No it can be fatal!
Vicodin already has acetaminophen in it! It is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen. You should not take more acetaminophen with Vicodin, as it can cause serious liver damage. Vicoprofen is the drug that contains hydrocodone and ibuprofen.
yes
