There is no charge, but not just anyone can walk in. Tours are scheduled in advance and by appointment, and you have to contact your member of congress first, in order to get on the waiting list. There are a number of other regulations that you must agree to, in order to assure the security of the White House. No...I went a couple of weekends ago and a person that had a felony from over 10 years ago was not able to take a tour of the White House. They pulled the individual to the side and discreetly told them that they were unable to go on the tour.
