Certainly--yet take heed of the warnings! Some drugs and supplements could combine well together. DMAE, which you may know to increase acetylcholine in the brain (at least most research asserts this), is technically a drug too/was a drug in development known in the early to mid 60's as Deaner. It is also found in fish to various extents. Given the potential elevation in acetylcholine, and the psychostimulant effect from the norepinephrine and dopamine releasing/reuptake inhibition of the Adderall, a slight, to potentially moderate synergistic (complementing) effect may occur. If, I assume correctly, you are attempting to increase the benefit for ADHD, which is the condition this mixed amphetamine product is designed to reduce symptoms for, realize that if you are taking the drug, truly have legitimized ADHD, the actual stimulant quality will abate within a few weeks to a few months after therapy has commenced. However, the concentration benefit will resume, despite a perceived, anecdotal lessened response. NEVER increase the dose beyond your prescribed daily amount! Persons afflicted with psychosis and bipolar disease should also NEVER take this supplement/drug unless expressly allowed to by a competent psychiatrist, or, better yet, a neuropsychiatrist, not just a family doctor. Bipolar persons could relapse to a manic state, whilst a worsening of symptoms in the schizophrenic spectrum category could be expected. Again--nothing is ever truly set in stone. That was the warning. Good luck on your therapy, because this (Adderall) is a powerful, therapeutic medication--an important differentiation, than from simply a "drug." Hope all is well and continues to remain so.

If you are looking for the complicated answer look to the next paragraph, which starts with "Gibbs JW", the simple answer is No, or at least not without adverse effects and this is why (I basically just translated the next paragraph): Adderall, which is amphetamine/dextroamphetamine, increases your dopamine, which is the chemical in your brain which tells it that you are awake, have energy, excited, happy, etc and also helps you focus. While Melatonin increases your seratonin, the chemical which tells your brain the opposite, you're tired, sleep time, etc. So when you take them together your brain can't decide whether it's awake or asleep, so it just starts mass producing both chemicals, until one wins out. It has the slight possibility of damage since your brain already has enhanced levels of seratonin and dopamine, thanks to the pills, but then it has to make even more to pull out of the condradiction that it finds itself in, combined you have chemical levels far above what your brain is used to, and it is simply unknown whether or not too much of these chemicals is toxic or damaging to your grey matter, and your body in general (Adderall by itself can, in rare cases, cause heart problems, so how much good do you think it will do your heart if it gets hit by a double dose of dopamine, right after it has slowed and cooled down thanks to the seratonin?).

"Gibb JW, Bush L, Hanson GR. Exacerbation of methamphetamine-induced neurochemical deficits by melatonin. J Pharmacol Exp Ther. 1997;283:630-5." Melatonin may exacerbate the monoaminergic effects of amphetamine-related medications. Coadministration of melatonin with methamphetamine in animal studies resulted in increased dopaminergic and serotonergic stimulation. The mechanism for this effect is not known, but could potentially lead to increased central nervous system stimulation and resultant cardiac and neurologic toxicity. Because abuse of amphetamines causes insomnia, and melatonin might be self-administered to counteract this pharmacologic effect, this potential interaction could be clinically important.

An effect in animals doesn't necessarily mean an effect will be present in people (also, this study is for methamphetamine, which is related to adderall, but not the same), but this is reason to be careful when thinking about combining the two.

Ya but if you mix to much of either one you could get bad side effects (i.e. high blood pressure, anxiety, etc)

Will taking lorazepam change the effects of Adderall?

Well Adderall is a CNS stimulant, which is what gives you the speedy feeling. Lorazepam(Ativan) is a CNS depressant. It calms you down. Lorazepam's a downer and adderall is an uper. So if you take the two together, you won't get the adderalls full effect.
