There is something called Serotonin Storm which is a rare reaction to medication that is sometimes fatal.
Similar warnings are on medications such as Cymbalta and Effexor, which have similar properties as Nucynta.
Many doctors are still willing to prescribe triptan medications such as Imitrex to people who are on medications like Cymbalta and Effexor.
So, express your concerns to your doctor. If your doctor is willing to prescribe both, then you might try and find a way to take a test dose of Imitrex at your doctor's office while on Nucynta. Or, make sure a friend or family member knows that there is a possible rare reaction that might occur the next time you have to take your migraine medication to treat a migraine.

Imitrex can be a dangerous drug, causing death if taken incorrectly. Thus I cannot recommend taking it when the drug is expired. Once I did accidentally give myself an expired Imitrex stat dose shot (expired by about 6 months) and nothing happened to me.
