Can you take remeron and Celexa together or is one a replacement for the other?

I was first prescribed remeron for insomnia and then (In a matter of 1-2 months) Celexa in conjuction with Remeron. The Celexa was pescribed for the " Morbid and Dark" feeling that I had in association with my OCD and Anxiety/depression. I have been on the both w/Xanax when needed for around 6 months and noticed a severe decrease in all of my symptoms. I can now go through a day without any symptoms (i.e. It doesn't affect daily routines or thoughts). So yes you can take it together with positive affects.

No. It is not safe to take zantac( an acid reducer) with celexa( an antidepressant). These medications have an interation with each other and should not be taken together. Contact your pharmacist or physician to see what alternative medications are available to treat your acid reflux while being on celexa.

Celexa is very similar to Lexapro one is Citalopram and the other Escitalopram. lexapro is newer and supposed to have fewer side effects but Celexa is helpful and similar to Lexapro.
