Darvocet contains Acetaminophen and Advil is ibuprofen, an NSAID. Acetaminophen is not a NSAID and should not be taken with Ibuprofen due to the increased risk for liver and/or kidney toxicity. You can alternate Tylenol with Advil as such: 09:00 AM-2 Tylenol
12:00 PM-2 Advil
03:00 PM-2 Tylenol
06:00 PM-2 Advil
etcetera etcetera. approximately every 3 hours alternate.
This way your kidneys and liver won't be bombarded with 2 liver toxic and/or kidney toxic drugs at the same time. A healthy liver and set of kidneys will do fine with just one of the 2, but taking them at the same time sets you up for damage. Hope this helps!
they are both synthetic opiates, the latter being particularly strong, so it would not be wise to do so. however if the dosage is low, it is acceptable
I am on lyrica and want to take a darvocet for pain is this o.k.
I guess so...doin both now
you could but you probably should consult your physician before taking both at the same time.
I've took 2 at the same time and I know other people that have and they've been okay. Darvocet isn't a strong drug at all, but you shouldn't take more then 2 at a time or 4 or 5 a day for a long period of time.
Yes. I have a prescription to take them both. But it would be wise to consult with you physician first.
yes
Lortab is stronger Darvocet A500 only contains 100 mg of proxyphene which is prescribed for mild to moderate pain, while hydrocodone at any dose is stronger and prescribed for moderate to severe pain.As along time suffer of degenerative arthritis I am familiar and well read on any painkiller out there.i have chosen to take Darvocet because the withdrawals are no where near as bad as Lortab and darvocet A500 contains less Tylenol which is easier on your liver and allows you to supplement with otc painkillers. If you asked this question because your doctor had been prescribing Lortab and changed you to Darvocet take his advice and take the darvocet ,cause the likelihood you need anything stronger is slim and you are probably subconciously wanting to get high and you are treading on dangerous ground.
Yes, this is OK. Remember, though, that your mood disorder makes you more likely to be addicted to things. Be careful with Vicodin because it is habit forming. Take it just as the doctor said and don't take extra.
After having a surgery several years ago I was prescribed vicodin for a short period of time and just this past year was diagnosed with hypothyroiditis so it is possible to take vicodin safely with an under active thyroid but check with your doctor(s) to see if it is safe for you.
This is a bad idea. You do not want to take three sedative medicines at once. My advice from looking at the list is for you to take care of your pain. You don't NEED a tranquilizer like Ambien - that is for nights when you have tried to get to sleep on your own and not been able to. You can take the Darvocet and Flexeril together as a pain killer + muscle relaxant combination. Taking too many sedatives at once can make you pass out and even have trouble breathing.
Take double the next time it is due, otherwise your bodies levels will become low!
Vicodin is a combination of an opiate and acetaminophen, so taking additional acetaminophen would not be wise. It is not recommended to take more than 4,000 mg's of Tylenol in a day. Check your prescription to see how much acetaminophen each pill contains, or if you're unsure call the pharmacy. Tylenol and advil can be taken at the same time in stuttered doses as long as one is well hydrated. Vicodin will have the same analgesic properties of aceta so using aceta is of no value and actually if taken in high doses can deplete gssh stores in your liver and cause you to go into overt liver failure.
Not much, but if you take the vicodin regularly you are a tad bit of the adderall feeling the more vic's you take.
