Alcoh-pops are usually around 1.5 units each, so in theory the alcohol should have cleared from your system by four hours after. (The typical assumption is that one unit clears per hour). However, if your are much smaller than the average man (which is what that figure of "one unit per hour" is based upon), or have any liver problems which may slow the clearing of alcohol from your system, it's best to wait as long as possible before taking the codeine.
Having said that, mixing codeine with alcohol is unlikely to kill you. However you may feel very sleepy on the combination, and it increases the amount of liver damage sustained (compared to drinking the same amount of alcohol and taking the codeine once it has cleared from your system).

Although it may be a weak opiate, it can still be addictive and is best taken for a couple of days only. Codeine can also constipate you so drink plenty water. Codeine can also make you very drowsy so do not take with alcohol.
