You can, although it wouldn't make much sense. It will basically stop your period from coming for that month. My suggestion (what my doctor told me) is to start taking the pill the Sunday after your period has stopped. You will then continue to have your period at the same time of the month as always, and you won't have to worry about the "missing" period. Cheers, Squares PS If your doctor hasn't told you, wait a month before having sex to ensure that the pill has enough time to deal with hormonal changes. It won't be much use before that point.

∙ 12y agoIt depends on the type of pill you are taking, mine says you can take it up to 5 days after the firsdt day of your period; however if you have a short cycle of 23 days you can wait up to three days. :)
