The camshaft sensor for a 1.9 dti is located on the gearbox. it is at the end close to the motor, held in with a single bolt.
The sensor on the CAM SHAFT!
A cam sensor tells the computer when number one compression stroke is happening, the crank sensor tell the computer when to fire the sparkplugs.
The cam sensor is in the distributor.
The cam shaft sensor is device that uses the "Hall Effect" to tell the ignition control module and/or the ecu ( depending on type of vehicle ) where the cam shaft is during it's rotation so it can fire off the engine coil(s) and open the fuel injectors at the correct time.
The cam shaft position sensor uses the "Hall Effect" to tell the ecu ( car's computer ) where the cam shaft is in it's rotation. This information is used by the ecu to fire off the coil ( or coils ) and the injectors at the correct time.
CMP= Cam Shaft Position Sensor.
The cam sensor is inside the distributor.

were is the cam shaft sensor
P0340 is a failure in the cam shaft sensor circuit. That can prevent the engine from running.P0340 is a failure in the cam shaft sensor circuit. That can prevent the engine from running.
I would like to know where the cam sensor is on a 1999 pathfinder and is there one or they calling it a crank shaft sensor The cam shaft position sensor is located in the distributor.
