probably yes. The caterpillar engine would have no problem pulling it. You will notice slight power loss because of the added load but no problem towing it. You should observe all precautions involving the automatic trans in the Avalanche. You should use a dolly or something to prevent the wheels from turning the driveline as the automatic doesn't get lube when being towed with the engine not running.
