Need government issued ID to travel on a plane. Can be a DL, or State ID or passport.... Check with the airline before flying if there are any doubts.

∙ 15y agoYou need a photo ID, not necessarily a driver's license. It is really stupid that an expired driver's license is not acceptable, even though it is obviously a genuine form of photo ID.

I had to go through extra screening (which actually got me through faster because they pulled me out of the line), but I got on the plane both ways (and I flew out of Dulles on the way back to San Francisco.
