The US doesn't have any prohibition against it, however consider the fact that the the British authorities may choose to bar you from entering their country. Check with the British Consulate or Embassy.

Yes, you can enter the UK as long as you have served your time. I have been several times and I had a little mishap about 19 years ago which was a felony conviction and I have never had to disclose this information. This conviction is still on my record as well. The UK seems a little more forgiving than the US involving convictions. I feel like in the US you have to wear "a scarlet letter" whereas in the UK if you paid your dues and time passes, offenses are not held against you. Good luck and continue your life forward no matter what happened in the past.

More information is needed to answer this question. For example, is the person on probation or parole, and have these agencies put conditions on the person's travel? Where will the person be traveling? Many countries will decline to allow people to enter their countries depending on the type of conviction. If the person is on probation or parole, start by asking that agency. If the person wants to travel abroad, call the local office of the country for advice. However, the people who work the border and airport entrances for the foreign country often make their own decisions.

As far as visiting, and if your nationality doesn't need a visa to enter the UK, it depends a lot on when and where and how long ago. Generally, yes, if they don't know about it. If you got busted for smoking grass back in 1972, how would they know? It probably wouldn't make a difference if they did. If you are a person like OJ Simpson before his conviction for burglary, quite possibly no, even though he was actually found innocent of murder. When one lands at Heathrow, most first world people are just asked who long they intend to stay and to show some money. If that. They might ask you if you have ever been convicted of a crime. If you look respectable, they will probably believe you when you say no. If you are a man and wearing lots of gold jewelry and have lots of tattoos visible, then they might be more ...interested... in your background. If you say yes, then they will ask lots of questions. Rape, murder, drug smuggling, driving under the influence, goodby. Cheating on your taxes or smoking weed in college in the 70's as I said, probably you'd get in. Do not confess to things that they have not asked you about. "I robbed a bank ten years ago, does that matter?" is a dumb question.
