I know in Long Island, NY, you're allowed to LEGALLY turn right on a red light, unless there's a sign that prohibits that.
Another view: Some states DO allow legal left hand turns from a one-way street onto another one-way street. you will have to check you local statutes to determine if that is the law in your jurisdiction.
Most states allow this. Look in your states driver's license manual for specifics. For example from the Alabama driver manual :
"You may make a left turn after stopping if you are driving on a one-way street and the street you turn left onto is a one-way street with traffic moving from right to left."
Double yellow lines signify only NO PASSING, they are not a barricade to making a lawful left turn.
what is the traffic code law
On a two lane road with a center lane, the center lane is used for left turns going either direction. If on a 4 lane road with a center divider then the left lane is where you should be, unless there is a left turn pocket at the intersection. If on a two lane road with no center lane then you execute the left turn from the forward travel lane that you are in. In all cases be certain to use your turn indicators to let those following you know of your intentions.
Washington State is only one of three states in the USA. in which is IS legal to turn left at a red left turn signal (of course after first coming to a full stop), turning left on a two-way street to a one-way street. I'd like to know which are the other two states that allow this? I believe California is one of them. I wonder why this law is this way. ?? A2: I know in San Francisco, you may always turn left on a red or stop sign into a one way street, from any kind of street, if you come to full stop, first. Otherwise, the traffic would Never move. I am not sure of rest of CA.
The Rules of the Road may be different. In some countries cars drive on the left side of the street.
Louisiana left the Union January 26, 1861.
You can, so long as your left turn results in your traveling in the appropriate direction as dictated by the one way road, and so long as turning left isn't specifically prohibited at that intersection.
New mexico. and to the right Louisiana.
You go down the street and take a right and then a ammediate left and you will be there
If by left you mean west, Arkansas and Louisiana. If you mean east, Alabama.
