Can you uninstall and reinstall the sims 3 and have it still work?

no, all of your files will be deleted, but if you would like to save your sims (or any other folders and files for that matter) then do the following:
go into
My documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3
this will bring you to all the folders and files that are in your game. you can drag any folders you want to keep onto your desktop (like saved games) and then uninstall the game.
now when you reinstall it, go back into the sims 3 file and drag the desired folders back, replacing the new and empty ones.

∙ 12y agoIf you backup your game files (these can be found under My Documents>Electronnic Arts>The Sims 3>Saved Games) then once you reinstall, the game will run just as before, with all of your old families. However, remember to locate the installation codes for your disks before you uninstall, otherwise you won't be able to reinstall the games.

You have to uninstall Sims 2 and reinstall it, but when it comes to add stuff don't install Sims 2 Store Edition (note- this will delete all families you made and neighbourhoods) and then when it is all done Body Shop should work.

I think it still would. I don't know if there is an option when you uninstall it to keep all of your families there or if you want to delet them. I know in sims 2 there is one.

Start Menu->Electronic Arts/EA Games->The Sims 3 World Adventures->Uninstall The Sims 3 World Adventures. Or if EA were so evil to 'forget' to add an uninstall button, go into Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs and uninstall it from there.

Sometimes things like that just happen... So all you have to do is just uninstall it then reinstall it and it should work then. :)

You'll probably have to uninstall and reinstall the game. You shouldn't mess around with files that you don't understand. One day you might end up having to buy a new computer.

Reinstall Halo, the original PC game. Then try reinstalling Halo CE. If Halo CE still doesn't work, uninstall both programs using "Revo Uninstaller," which can be found at http://www.revouninstaller.com/ Then reinstall the original Halo, then Halo CE. It should work fine now! I've had similar problems, Revo Uninstaller is amazing at cleaning up your computer after an uninstall.
