Fuses are sized to protect conductors === === == == (LIFE SAFETY WARNING! [disclaimer]
Electricity is dangerous!
You can be injured or killed!
Improper installations can cause fire, injury and death!
Are you qualified to do this work?)
National Electrical Code definition, NFPA 70 2005 Article 100 I: Qualified Person. "One who has skills and knowledge related to the construction and operation of the electrical equipment and installations and has received safety training on the hazards involved."
Changing from a 15 amp fuse to a 20 amp fuse because of load requirements would be over fusing, unless the wire were adequately sized for that current level.
If there is a 15 amp fuse, it is probably because the wire is only rated for 15 amps.
Redistribute the load or run additional circuits.
Improper fuse size will allow overloading of the circuit, with possible conductor damage and fire as a result.

As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed. Before you do any work yourself,
on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances,
always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.
IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOB
SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY

The fuse diagram for my 91 Capri is as fallows: Engine 15A Stop 20A Power Window 30A \ Meter 10A Hazard 15A ------ HTD B-light 20A Cigar 15A Tail 15A IG Relay Room 10A door lock 30A Audio 15A \ Fog Lamp 20A Air Cond 15A ----- \ Cooling Fan 20A Wiper 20A Heater 30A The IG Relay and the Heater are the big ones on the side of the fuse box.
Stock fuses are usually 15a, but I use a 20a.
It cannot be simplified any further, so it is: 5a³ + 15a² + 20a
I'll do my best. X X X EMPTY ECU-IG 20A Rear Antilock 15A X X X EMPTY EMPTY EMPTY X X X Radio 7.5A Wiper 20A Engine 10A X X X Cig. 15A Gauges 10A IGN. 7.5A X X X Turn 10A Stop 15A Tail 15A
The fuse box is located on the drivers side lower kick box. ÊThe fog lights are located in the first column, a 15A fuse, Êand the windows are located in the middle column and require a 20A fuse..
No
You have to replace the wire (as you are increasing the current capacity), the outlet, and the breaker. Essentially you have to remove the old circuit and put in a new one. You can't reuse parts of the old circuit as you are increasing the current capacity and they would be underrated.
F9 and its a 20A fuse :)
There is a fuse box under the back seat. (You'll find the battery there too, by the way) Check fuse #23 (15A) for cigarette lighter and fuse #14 (20A) for additional power outlets.
Usually 15A or 20A, but it depends on the wire used.
The kitchen and garage are the only 20 amp circuts usually.
depends on your car look at the fuse box cover. locate the blown fuse on the diagram and there should be some numbers e.g. 5A, 10A, 15A, or 20A. once you have this go to your local car store and by a 5A or whatever fuse. even better... take the blown one out and take it in to the store...
