5w20 or 0w20- either is ok by Toyota
5w20 any premium brand. UNless you have a hybrid, the 0W20.
Yes. SAE 0W20 means that the oil has zero viscosity in winter. This oil does not exist, which is just as well because if it did it would drain right down into the sump leaving the engine unlubricated. Several companies make a SAE 0w20, including AMSOIL and Toyota. In cold temperatures the oil is thicker than at warm temperatures. Because it has a lower viscosity, it lubricates the engine faster than a higher viscosity oil. Toyota is specifying 0w20 next year.
not a good idea 0w20 is very thin oil. unless your engine calls for it it will go right through your piston ring & burn the oil. 10w 30 is a much thicker weight.
I don't think I would go with 5w20. I'd probably go with 5w30 and you'll be alright.
depend on the year of the car. most would take 5w20. new models ask for 0w20
Yes you can use 5W20 oil instead of 5W30. One is just thicker then the other. The 5W20 is better in the winter and the 5W30 is better in the summer.
20w50? That's some thick stuff. Are you sure you don't need 5w30, 5w20, 0w20 or 0w40?
No. Addition.. If you are looking for better engine protection and are not worried about the minuscule loss in fuel efficiency use the 30 weight oil. A lot of manufacturers "RECOMMEND" a 0W20 or 5W20 oil... this is really to get the car to maximum fuel efficiency here in America. Car companies love to claim they have the most fuel efficient vehicles. One way to meet EPA's MPG requirement is to use a lower viscosity oil such as 5W20. You go to Europe same cars are running a 40W oil, and they are changing it at 10K
Just use what Toyota recommends unless you live in a extremely cold place, then I'd go 0w20 because it flows better in the cold.
The Honda Odyssey passenger van has been in production for a number of years as of September 2014. Engine oil and fluid capacities will vary by model and production year, For the 2014 Odyssey with the 3.5L V6 the engine oil capacity with filter is 4.5 quarts. 0W20 and 5W20 are recommended for this application for all-season use.
Hi, Which engine is it, 2.7L - 5w20. 5.7L - 5w20/Mobil - 5w40
