drain the gearbox and refill with ATF the valves in the gearbox stick due to dirty ATF.
A manual transmission does not typically use [automatic] transmission fluid, or "ATF." As it is just a gearbox, it is usually filled with "gear lube" oil formulated for the task. Whatever type of lubricant is specified by the transmission manufacturer, it should be changed occasionally due to oxidation breakdown with heat and time. Consult the owner's manual for the proper fluid and interval. It should be much longer than an automatic transmission.
That manual transmission doesn't use gear oil. You can use Mercon ATF.
Many manual transmissions use ATF instead of traditional gear oil. Perhaps you can drain a small amount to see if it is ATF or gear oil if you do not have the owner's manual.
Assuming you are referencing a manual transmission, Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) is specified by BMW for Z3 manual transmission. Sounds crazy, but true. Full synthetic is also recommended. **Always check the owners manual before using any fluids**
I think the Festiva manual transmission uses ATF The auto parts store or the owners manual will tell you
you need to pull the speedo cable out from the gearbox and if you clean around were the speedo cable goes in you will see a picture of the gear on the end of the cable this diagram will show were the full line is on the gear also make sure it is manual trans oil because some of the lasers run atf in the manual box
atf will do nicely
The transmission does not take gear oil. The auto uses ATF+4 and the manual uses manual trans fluid.
The trans does not use gear oil. The auto uses ATF+4 and the manual uses a special manual transmission lube.
ATF or dextron II trust me im a gearbox engineer.
You can use 10-30 engine oil in the manual gearbox, however Honda did later release a better gearbox oil with friction modifiers - Honda MTF - recommended! I'm unsure for automatics, Honda ATF is the obvious choice but the type (dexron II / dexron III etc) I'm unsure about.
