You should always check the owners manual for your specific brand of chainsaw for fuel recommendations. If, like me, you bought a chainsaw that did not come with an owners manual many can be found online at the manufacturers website. Most chainsaws require oil to be mixed with the fuel.

Yes, you can use WD40 but penetrating oil would work better.
WD40 can be applied anywhere - but it doesn't do anything but leave oil on your skin. Just use lotion or baby oil instead if you need moisture. It's less expensive.

Use regular Stihl 2 cycle oil. You mix it 50:1.
