The sunroof motor is located directly behind the panel where the "open/close" switch is mounted.
Is there water in the switch
If a sunroof gets stuck open, getting it closed can be hard. It can be pulled shut if a person can get a grip on the sunroof. Fixing the wiring or fuse problem would help remedy the problem,
Open the small door near the switch and remove the 2 screws inside. The entire piece will drop from the ceiling, then push the switch out from the back.
you open the sunroof, get out of the car and lock the car with your keys
a sunroof is a glass panel on the roof that when you open it air will come through the roof in also has a protecter that you open use the sunroof
Start the M35 or set the ignition to ACC mode. Close the sunroof completely and release the switch. Press and hold the switch towards the close position for more than 5 seconds. This should reset the feature. Press the switch toward the open position to test.
You can manually operate the sunroof using an Allen wrench if the cables and tracks are not damaged. There is a small square plastic cap to the rear of the switch. It pops open to expose the Allen wrench socket. Simply insert the Allen wrench and turn to open or close.
i have the same problem on acura opens but will not close it closed once may be loose wire or switch is bad.
Check the fuse for the sunroof. if it is good check for power (12volts) at the motor when using the switch. if there is power most likely you'll need a motor if you have the means you can also put 12volts to the motor to see if it operates.
Surprisingly, this is an incredibly common problem with 2002 Jeep Liberty models. The most common reasons are a broken switch, a blown fuse or motor, problems with the liner seal, or a broken auto lock. If trying to close the sunroof makes any sort of noise, it is a problem with the motor. If the sunroof doesn't make any noise at all while trying to close it, it is the switch.
