To reset the sunroof on a 1997 Range Rover, start by closing the sunroof completely and holding the switch in the closed position for about 10 seconds. Then, open the sunroof fully by holding the switch in the open position for another 10 seconds. Finally, close it again and hold the switch in the closed position for another 10 seconds to complete the reset. This process should recalibrate the sunroof's limit settings.
Check the fuses in your 97 Cavalier first. The dome light and the sunroof probably have a common power source.
No it will not work.
Look in the back panel of the headliner ahead of the rear window where the manual crank of the sunroof is.
I believe they start at the rear corners of the sunroof and exit in/at the rear wheelwell areas. To check you can fill the sunroof chanels with water from a jug/hose and see/listen where they drain.
If the suspension kit didn't come with a bypass you need to get one. They're out there. Check Ebay. But you may need to reset it 1st and then immediately put the bypass on before you start the vehicle. Don't know your location but in LA there's Celebrity Auto (323-953-1666). They reset mine for me. It was $200.00. Otherwise a dealership can definitely do it. Atlantic British sells the EAS overide module ( roverparts.com ), you do not have to reset light, just install as per instructions and go. It will show EAS MANUAL for 5 secs and dissappear, have one and works good. Will cost twice of the dealer reset and easy to do oneself ( directions are very descriptive ).
