Yes, although I can't tell you what you would gain from it in that state, if the air pressure adjustment has to be outside of the cab or can be in-cab, etc. There's a "bulk, tanker, and dump" sub-forum at the forums over on The Truckers Report forums where that info can be obtained.

Choosing The Right Dump Truck?

Choosing the right dump truck for a job is no easy task. Consider the different variables before making your final choice.Pick the right size truckDepending on the field of your business, you may need a large dump truck or a small dump truck. For example, an established construction company is doing much more work than a small landscaping company, and usually requires the use of a large dump truck to facilitate the disposal of trash and materials.Find a dump truck as large or small as needed to fulfill the requirements of your job or company. Choose the right type of dump truckAside from the traditional dump truck, which is solely meant for the disposal of trash and unwanted materials, other types of dump trucks do exist. Many contractors use a transfer truck. It is very similar to a dump truck, but the container has its own power supply and is detachable from the chassis of the truck. This allows for easy storage, and in the absence of the container, the dump truck is much easier to maneuver and operate. There are also aspect dump trucks. These have hydraulic pumps to dump waste from the side of the truck, rather that in just one direction.Look for the right style of dump truck for the needs of your corporation. Where do you plan on using the dump truck? Many contractors and construction companies have the convenience of utilizing a paved road connected to the job site. However, this is a luxury to which not all are afforded. If your job requires your trucks to go off-road to reach critical areas, you must take this factor into account when in the market for a new dump truck. A truck designed for off-road use has a larger frame and wheels, a more stable suspension and sometimes a capacity to carry a larger payload.Although you may feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of variables that you must consider when in the market for a new dump truck, fear not. Review these guidelines, and make an informed decision about your purchase.

What does the GVW on a truck mean If you had a triaxle dump truck with a GVW of 60000 does that mean your truck can weight up to that much what if you decided to pull a trailer that weighed 20000?

GVW is gross vehicle weight which is different than GCWR (gross combination weight rating). Pulling a trailer weighing 10 tons should not cause you any problems. However I am assuming you have your dump tagged at a little less than 55,000 to avoid paying heavy use tax. Even if this is not the case and you have tagged it for a heaver weight be aware that pulling that trailer while dump and trailer are loaded may put yousignificantly over your tagged weight. Just watch your gross weight or you can re-tag your dump for 80,000. When GCWR is not available on the power unit DOT will add the GVW for the dump and the trailer to get a GCW (gross combination weight).

How much fuel does a tandem dump truck use per hour?

In idle? The configuration of the tractor has nothing to do with determining that. It's the motor which does, and the consumption rate in idle for a motor would be the same for a tandem axle dump truck as it would be for the same motor in a road tractor, box truck, quad axle dump truck, cement mixer, etc.

Why do dump trucks have don't use hooks painted on the back?

To give an example.... when you pave something such as a racetrack, you're at a very steep angle which would cause a dump truck to tip over once its bed was raised into the air. In many cases, the bed may not even have to be raised for this to happen. One method to allow dump trucks to dump into a paving machine on such surfaces is to have cranes hook to the beds and chassis of the dump truck in order to prevent them from tipping over. Which is fine, if the truck has a bed which won't be damaged by the hooks. However, many dump trucks do not, and their beds may be susceptible to damage from having a crane hooked to it - especially in the case of dump trucks which have lightweight aluminum dump bodies, rather than steel dump bodies.
