The best way to use sync to a universal remote would be simple. The only thing you have to do it point the remote to the control on the TV. There should be a button on the DVD player remote that will allow you to make sync these two together.
The brand name of the remote should not determine whether or not to buy the universal remote. The brand name of the television the remote is for should determine if the remote is purchased because the remote and television have to be compatible.
normally you press the power button on the tv. if that is not possible then grab the remote for that tv and press the power button on the remote control. in the case where neither of the first 2 suggestions did not worked or is impossible then i would say use a universal remote control with the learning feature. these types of remotes can turn on mostly any device with an ir sensor. just point and click. using a universal learning remote should solve this tv problem for you.
dtvpal went out of business. so you would need a learning universal remote. unless the STB you want to control is Echostar. the dtvpal remote should work on both echostar and dtvpal. other than that find a nice universal learning remote and use that.
Your remote's model is actually PMDVD6. You should be able to get the manual for this remote from Philips' website.
Yes. Most universal remotes are just that, universal. They should have a code or several codes that can be used for each model television on the market.
Without a code book, you can program a universal game changer remote by using the "scan" function. Typically, this involves holding down a specific button while pointing the remote at the device you want to program. The remote will cycle through different codes until it finds the correct one for your device. Consult the remote's manual for instructions on how to activate the scan function.
you have to know the specific code for the dvd player you are using... it should come in the instructions that came withe the controller, or search online the code for it if you don't have the instructions! Hope it helped!
Most new remotes are universal and can be programmed for any TV. Sony sells several universal models, for example http://www.amazon.com/Sony-RM-AV3000-Universal-Control-Touch-key/dp/B000066AX5. You should not have a problem finding a universal remote control from sony.
In the instructions it should say how to program it to your own garage door. Much like a universal remote control for your television.
You should not have to program this remote.... although it says universal on it. This is an original remote and should work when you put the batteries in. For T.V viewing, just push the t.v button on the top of the remote then power/on-off .... wait for the light, then the sound, then begin with your normal activities.
Try running the universal remote programming codes until one works. There should be a sheet of codes that came with the remote. If that doesn't work than chances are that you may have other problems with the TV.
