Traditionally a full eternity ring is given from a husband to his wife on the birth of their first child or on their first anniversary (whichever comes first).

There is no rule to say an eternity ring CANNOT be used as an engagement ring but bear in mind the following;

1) Full eternity rings cannot be adjusted should the girl gain or lose weight at any point in her life. This is because stones go all the way around. Perhaps a half eternity ring would be better.

2) Once that critical birth of baby or first wedding anni comes along, what ring will be given then?

Personally, my engagement ring is a triology ring (three stones representing past, present and future). It's gorgeous and meaningful because of the 3 stones.

FORGET TRADITION, DO WHAT YOU AND YOUR FIANCE WANT. Trust me, you will need to learn the art of saying "our way or the highway" in the run up to your wedding.

Eternity bands can absolutely be used as a wedding band. This is a popular trend as we have been seeing engagement rings that have continuous diamond bands that go entirely around the finger. They make for a beautiful display of never ending diamonds and symbolize continuous love.

You can use whatever ring you like. I am using my promise ring from college.

Diamonds are getting more and more popular in wedding rings now, we believe that you will be wearing the ring for a long time so make sure its one you will love for a lifetime!

Traditionally wedding rings are plain bands, designed for comfort. Wedding bands with a channel set diamond band are becoming popular. Ultimately eternity rings are given on a special occassion in a persons life, and that can easily be a wedding day. In the end everyone is free to choose exactly what type of ring they want for their wedding day it doesn't have to be traditional. It's your day afterall.

An eternity ring (sometimes referred to as an anniversary ring or band) is a ring style that has diamonds going around the entire outside circumference of it. Because the diamonds don't stop at a certain point, as they commonly do in most diamond bands, this style is referred to as an "eternity ring" (which is generally given as an anniversary gift).

Almost every ring can be made into an eternity ring as long as the stones go entirely around the band. Rings that are not "eternity" can be retrofitted by adding diamonds/gemstones to the missing parts of the band. Also, keep in mind eternity rings can't be resized if your ring size changes which is an important factor to consider with eternity bands.

The best way to do that is by buying bridal sets. The engagement ring has been used by brides in the past as the wedding ring. The best way is to get a simple band for the wedding so as not to overpower the engagement ring.

Can an engagement ring be used for the wedding ring?

Not really. Engagement and wedding rings aren't the same. An engagement ring is worn in order to show others that you are engaged or in other words you've promised someone. In the same way a wedding ring is worn because it is an indication that you are married to someone. They can be worn together but are seldom interchangeable. Source :-www.buybluesteel.com

Should you use your mother's wedding band?

There is nothing wrong with wearing your mother's wedding band as long as your fiance is fine with that idea. Often if a wedding band is handed down from one generation to the other it's acceptable to wear that band.

Can you use a wedding ring for an engagement?

Yes, some European countries can do this and the young woman puts it on her finger on her right hand and when they get married it can either stay there (the groom will have the ring back and put it on her finger in the church) or she can move it to her finger on the left hand.

Is it OK to re use a wedding ring in your next wedding?

There's nothing "magical" or even particularly "spiritual" about wedding rings; they're just symbolic. It's okay if you and your new spouse are okay with it. Nobody else needs to know; if anyone notices the ring doesn't look new you can always say it's an heirloom (it's difficult for me to imagine anyone paying that much attention to someone else's wedding ring unless their attention is specifically directed to it ... a friend of mine has a titanium wedding band, which I know because he likes to take it off and fling it down hard at the driveway to make it bounce ... but I'm a guy; girls may notice such things more).

Can your engagement ring be your wedding ring?

Is it ok to have just ONE RING as your Wedding & Engagement ring?! So at your wedding, instead of receiving another ring/band you just use your Engagement Ring to be put on your finger at the ceremony? The reason why I ask this is because I have NEVER been a fan of jewelry to begin with and NEVER wore rings until I got engaged. Even after being engaged it has been hard to wear my ring (I just don't like things on my hand) and I only wear it when I leave the house on special occasions or anytime I'm with my fiance. It may sound funny but I actually have a bit of Jewelry/metal phobia. So since there is no way I'll be comfortable wearing two rings, can I just make my engagement ring my wedding ring? The answer is yes: wear what makes you comfortable.

Do you have to get an engagement ring to propose and then a marriage ring at the wedding?

No, but you should exchange rings. It is tradition and so is important to the woman, regardless of what she says. You can buy a nice ring for not much money.AnswerYou do not need to exchange rings in order to get married. All you need to do is obtain a marriage license in your jurisdiction and then solemnize the marriage before any official who is authorized to perform marriages in your jurisdiction. Regarding rings, that's a personal choice that both men and women today are capable of deciding on their own before or after the marriage takes place.
