50% anti-freeze, 50% water is normal, this can be elevated to 70% anti-freeze, 30% water. It is not recommended to have a higher anti-freeze ratio than this.
Always use antifreeze. Water does not have any water pump lubricants or anti corrosion properties, antifreeze coolant does.
you should use the dextrol coolant
get the universal antifreeze it can be used with the blue or red antifreeze

I use antifreeze mixed 50 / 50 with distilled water in my 1995 Ford Explorer as the engine coolant as the Owner Guide shows
