Why don't you look it up on the vehicle manufacture manual,it won't kill you;if your that lazy then any trans fluid will do but it's recommended you use what the manual commend!

The manual transmission uses Mercon. i have 1998 s10 with 5 speed trans i was told to use syncromesh trans fluid

you dont use tranny fluid in a manual trans you lube it
Auto trans don't use a pilot bearing only manual trans do.
The trans does not use gear oil. The auto uses ATF+4 and the manual uses a special manual transmission lube.

Depends if it is an auto or manual. Never seen a manual in that model. Standard ATF will work.
Synchromesh transmisssion fuild is what is recomened. Do not use Atf in those trans!
