No. Frontline products should be used on the specified species.
This is because one of the main components of Frontline, S-Methoprene is needed in a higher dose in cats. This is because it does not last as long in a cat than in a dog. So, if you used Frontline for dogs on your cat, it may not be as effective.
However, this higher dose is still safe to use on a dog - so you could use Frontline for cats on a dog.
You can use Frontline for Cats on a dog - but you need to be aware there may be a difference in weight. Therefore it would probably only work in a small dog. It is always recommended to use the correct Frontline for the species.
Frontline for Dogs and Cats both have the same active ingredients, but the cat one has a higher dose of (S)-Methoprene because this dissipates faster in a cat. The dog will not overdose receiving cat frontline, but the cat will not get the best protection if you give it Frontline for Dogs.
Frontline by itself should be sufficient to deal with your cat or dog's flea problem. Using a flea bath will reduce the effectiveness of the Frontline (you should only wash your dog with a gentle shampoo to maintain Frontline's protection).
Use the preventic collar. Ive had good success. I used the frontline type products.....they do kill ticks after they bite your animal. Both my dogs still ended up testing positive for lyme disease while using that chemical stuff......so I did not see the point. Besides.....ask yourself this.....would you put that stuff on your own skin and let it soak in? I wouldnt. I try not to poison myself....and frankly....my dogs mean too much to me.
you put right behind the collar bone and down the spine.
bath them good and pick the fleas off or get them a flea collar or something else that keeps fleas away.
Yes or no
One month after you used the last flea & tick treatment, unless you can see it is not working then go ahead and use the Frontline.
No, the cat will not die he has licked his flea collar. The flea collar is not toxic to cats only to fleas and ticks.
I would not use powder. Any flea shampoo is fine, also you could use a flea collar.
it is a medication.
Go to your local petstore and look for flea spray for furniture and carpet. Also look for new flea meds. if Frontline isn't working for you.
He might have fleas. Try a flea collar. UPDATE: Flea collars don't always work. Use Frontline or Advantix, you get them from your veterinarian. They might also have hot spots or just plain allergies too. Check with your vet!
