Yes, you can use it. However, do not expect it to taste normal. The expiration date is there because the spices in the sauce start to lose their flavor. So, if you use it, expect the flavor to be a bit off
depending on what you are making there are different sauces you can use. You can use a marinara sauce (tomato based sauce) Pesto sauce (basil based sauce) Cheese sauces ect.
Hi, We saw your question and just wanted to let you know that all Prego sauce has a best use by date printed on the cap. That is the last day we recommend you use the product. Prego Sauce is good for 2 weeks in the refrigerator once opened. Or if you prefer, it can be frozen in a separate container for up to 6 months. The Campbell Cares Team
The expiration date is there for a reason. If it's a cheesecake which doesn't use preservatives, then the expiration date is probably pretty accurate.

Yes, Extra virgin Olive oil is the best to use because it has the flavour you need to make a really good pesto, however you can use regular olive oil, vegetable oil, ground nut oil, sunflower seed oil etc, your pesto may not taste quite so good but it will still be pesto.
maybe shortly after the expiration date

If you don't have any pesto in your kitchen- a sauce made with pine nuts, basil leaves, cheese olive oil and garlic for those of you who haven't heard of it, traditionally served with pasta. Only pointing this out because till recently I had no idea what it was!- You could use pasta bake sauce? bolognas? Just some ideas.
