Yes. You can use buttercream as the frosting to bind your cake crumbles to make cake pops. Buttercream is also a good base if you're adventurous and want to flavor it and experiment with new cake pop flavors.

∙ 10y agoYes. It makes a very tasty cake pop indeed. The only challenge is that Brownies have a higher oil content and can sometimes cause problems after the cake pop is dipped (ie. cracks & leaks). If you are using a Brownie mix, I would suggest baking it as a cake consistency and to do that, use 3 eggs instead of the recommended 2 eggs on the box. Voila...you have brownie cake for cake pops. If you decide to bake a regular brownie, just use the frosting sparingly as frosting adds to the oil content of the cake pop.

The cake pops themselves are time consuming to make so many cake poppers prefer using cake mix for their cakes.
