I would not advise it. SEA30 motor oil is a single viscosity motor oil. This means that the thickness of the oil never changes. Multiviscosity motor oils acually thicken as the engine gets hotter. This allows the oil to be thinner at start up therefore it is able to lubricate the engine faster during the first few seconds of the engine running. This is when most engine damage occurs. The recommended oil type for a 1997 Toyota Corolla is 10 W 30. If the car is used in places of extreme cold weather, the oil type 5 W 20 can be used.
