no you can not take your cat to the vet!
Take you baby to see a doctor do not try to treat an ear infection yourself.
Sweet oil is actually just almond oil or olive oil. You don't need to make it. However, some people soak garlic in it and use it to fight infections.
Two or three drops is what's usually suggested, but if you use more, it's not a problem, just wipe it up. Sweet oil is the same thing as olive oil and will not hurt you. To be most effective in the ear, warm the oil up by running hot water over the bottle or putting it under your heating pad a couple of minutes.Do not microwave the bottle or the oil. You want it to be only a few degrees warmer than body temperature.Another use: I have noticed that Sweet Oil works best on baby's bum than bum creams or vaseline. Simply apply sweet oil to your baby's bum after every nappy change.
I have a lab puppy and at my house we use a wipe or a Qytip. What I use to clean my dogs and cats ears is a Q-tip and baby oil or skin so soft. Kills ear mites as well.
You can use it as often as you like -- it's just olive oil. The heat makes your ear feel better for a little while. Pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen are better for the pain. You'll need antibiotics if it's infected, though.
you can mix wax and water and put it on the dogs ear for 2 hours then remove
how many ear drops of garlic goldenseal oil for an earacke

It's best to get herbal liquids to clean your dogs ears. It can be bought from a health food store or your vet. I use Q-tips and put a little squirt down the ear of my dog, then gently (not too deep) use the Q-tip to keep my dog healthy so they don't get ear infections. I also clean my dogs ears out after they have been swimming. There can be all sorts of infections from trapped water, bacteria from the water and other pets around. Another thing I do is once a week I smell my dogs ears. If there is no odor then their ears are fine, but if there is a musty odor or an unpleasant odor you can be sure your dog has the start of an ear infection. Yes you can use baby oil. Place several drops in the ears, massage the ears and make the oil soak in. then let the dog or cat shake their head like crazy the ear mites should come "flying" out of the ears due to the force of the head shaking and the oil making them slide out. {For those of you who say that this is cruel: 1. My vet recommended this. 2. Putting chemicals in the animals ears is way worse, what if they are allergic?}
Probably, though you should consult your vetrinarian about the specific brand you're planning to use and to get the proper dosage for your dog.
