You can start your 2004 Rodeo without a keyless entry key. Remove the keyless entry fuse and use your ignition key to start the vehicle.
keyless systems don't require you to put the key in the ignition, you can leave it in your pocket and hit the start button
Try this: Turn the ignition to RUN (do not start), press the unlock button on the keyless remote, ignition OFF. Repeat 2x. Turn the ignition to RUN, press the unlock button on the keyless remote twice, the power locks should cycle to indicate successful programming. Turn the ignition OFF and test remote.
I just disarmed my 2001 sante fe. Heres how I did it. Unlocking my vehicle of course set the alarm off. I inserted my key into the ignition and switched to the "on" position. I then waited 30 seconds and was then able to start the engine and the alarm was disababled. This also worked on my 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe!
Probably because timing belts are notoriously unreliable.
turn ignition on. do not start car. hold down the 2 buttons at the same time for about 8 seconds.
Open hte door get in install the ignition key in the switch on the colunm then turn it forward or to the right to the start position till it starts and runs.

To disable a 2002 Hyundai Elantra alarm system, put the key in the ignition. Turn the key halfway ensuring the car does not start. Leave the key in this position for 10 minutes before starting the car.
