The stock tire size for a 1995 4x4 w/ steel rims is 235/75R15
I had an 84 and now have a 1987 and they both had 15 inch rims I used P205/75 to 215/75R15 tires Better handling with 215 than 205's
It depends on the rim backspacing they are mounted on. I have 235/75r15 on my 93 with stock rims and they rub only when at full steering lock. The 235/70r16 are 29" tall and my 235/75r15 are 28.9 only .1" different. If the rims you are using have the same width and backspacing as stock, the tires will rub but only at full steering lock. If the rims are wider you will definitely need less backspacing to move the tire way from the frame. The speedo will not be accurate, it will be off by 3 mph showing at 65mph when your actually doing 68.
Most full size cars of that era used P225/75R15-size tires Please note: The tires on my 1969 Buick Electra 225 are 205/70R15 and they are on the factory rims that came with the car.
For the 2005 Ford Explorer XLT , the Michelin website shows : P 245 / 65 / R17 as an alternate option ( if you want to change from 16 inch to 17 inch rims )

Rims are wheels. Your tire goes on them.
Taurus and Sable have their own sized rims from 96 to 2001. Other Taurus rims and Tempo and Windstar rims will not fit.
