Yes you can use 87 octane unleaded in a 1977 Yamaha XS750, that fuel was the good octane in those days

Yes you can use regular unleaded fuel and it will not harm the engine. Although by using low grade fuel, you will not get the max performance from your bike. I have a 2002 YZF 600R and use nothing but premium in it now. I use to use regular unleaded and I found that I would change my plugs at least once a riding season. it builds up alot of carbon. But yes the owners manual says that you can use regular unleaded.
you can use pretty much any unleaded gas but it runs a little better on 89 octane , or higher but if you have a stock blaster you can run 87 octane
That motorcycle originally burned leaded gas. You can safely burn unleaded in it. I believe the manual say 93 octane.
