No, you can't wear glasses during the vision portion of a driving exam. That's the reason for the test... to see if you require corrective lenses while driving.

Now when they remove the cloudy lenses in Cataract Surgery they replace them with plastic lenses focused for far vision, so you will need glasses for near vision. Many people get bifocals with no prescription for the main lens part and the near vision prescription for the bifocal part. Other people just carry prescription near vision glasses for when they need to look at things close up but normally wear no glasses at all.Years ago (before they began putting in plastic lenses) everyone needed glasses all the time after having Cataract Surgery, because there was no longer any lens in the eye to focus the light.
Can safety glasses affect your vision if you where contacts?
They could. Generally, nonprescription safety glasses have plano lenses, which mean there is no prescription to effect your vision. But, most of them have a general optical center (the part of the lens with the clearest vision). If you went to an eye doctor and got a safety pair of glasses they would measure this optical center to make sure you are getting the clearest vision possible. Glasses with a general optical center do not account for people who's eyes are close or far set. If you were not looking through the optical center it is possible that you would notice some distortion in your vision (nothing to extreme, just not quite clear).
What will replace laptop computers in the near future?
In the near future laptop computers will take the form of eye vision glasses which may be first introduced with react to light screen which will change tint on the inside as the Internet/TV is switched on to allow only the user to view on screen display. The drive unit of the hi-tech glasses will be powered by user movement attached to waist belt etc, using wireless blue tooth worn in user ear as part of glasses for sound & wireless operation. The Internet vision glasses keyboard will react to user finger movement with on screen display keyboard which only the user can see, the vision glasses will have scope of ongoing improvement to be used as electronic eye vision glasses to tailor eye sight without having to visit opticians etc. This is how I see the replacement of laptops in the near future that perform as full screen Internet, TV & electronic eye vision glasses using finger movements to operate.
