No. The reason being. . .when you get your braces off you would have yellow squares on your teeth where the brackets are. The best thing you can do is use a whitening toothpaste and, like your orthodontist should have told you, brush them after every meal or AT LEAST swish water in your mouth. Hope that helps!!

If you whiten your teeth with braces on you'll most likely end up with spots from the bleach only getting on the exposed enamel. They make a mouthwash for braces that helps keep your teeth an all around even tone and it's available in most drug/ grocery stores.

Most whitening treatments are best left for after the braces come off. You could use a whitening pen, but then the rest of your teeth would be whiter than where the brackets are.

Why shouldn't you brush your teeth with baking soda when you have braces?

Baking soda will give a bleaching/whitening effect on your teeth. If you whiten your teeth while having braces, then you will not whiten the areas where the brackets are attached to your teeth. When the braces are removed then you will end up with small square patches that are darker than the rest of your teeth.

How do you whiten your yellow teeth?

You can't fix it once it gets very well. I have braces and I think if you just keep brushing and flossing you won't need to feel the need and whiten your teeth. But if it's way yellow then you would have to pay a lot of money to your dentist to fix that.

Can you brush your teeth with baking soda when you have braces?

Yes, it does work. While baking soda can’t protect your teeth from cavities as effectively as a fluoride toothpaste can, it’s still considered a good cleaning agent for your teeth. Baking soda is good for teeth whitening because it is a very mild abrasive, which helps remove stains from the surface of your teeth. In addition, baking soda is alkaline and salty, which helps lighten acid-based food stains on teeth. Are you able to drink coffee when wearing braces on your teeth?

Of course you can. Braces have nothing to do with the "color/brightness" of your teeth. Braces are used to straighten teeth. If it is, in your finding, that drinking coffee has discolored your teeth, then he or she (your dentist) can apply a "whitener" to your teeth, regardless of braces. Regards
