There was no boy scout in UP. He was some off brand and his name was Russle.
mabe get a map One thing that the Boy Scouts is big on teaching is the buddy system. Always have a buddy with you and never go anywhere alone. Stay with the troop. Don't wander off without an adult leader. Do as you are told. Leaders are all trained and their most important thing is your safety. Whatever they say is for your own good whether you think so or not. Read and learn your Boy Scout manuel. It has many things on survival or at least it did when I was a scout.
Several camps claim the title but by any reasonable definition the honor goes to Camp Owasippe of the Chicago Area Council near Whitehall Michigan. It was purchased in 1910, constructed in 1911 and held its summer program for scouts in 1912. Treasure Island Scout Camp outside of Philadelphia (Cradle of Liberty Council) claims the title but was leased and used as a summer camp starting in 1913 and was purchased by the council in 1919. Camp Teetonkah; located near Jackson, Michigan, (Great Sauk Trail Council); is also a contender with holding scout summer camps since 1913. No other scout camp was established prior to 1916.
No there is not, merit badges for Boy Scouts are earned by completing certain sets of skills and having them signed off by instructors and scout masters/leaders. You cannot achieve a badge just by going to a certain area. Cub Scout rules may vary on this.
Try rubbing with Goof Off, it removes many glues.
The "blue card" is the form that the scout uses to track his progress toward earning a merit badge. The merit badge counselor checks off the requirements as they are done and when it is complete the scout turns in one section to apply for the badge and keeps the other for his own records.
You can try Goof-Off, but be careful...it can seep through the fabric and dissolve the glue holding nearby patches in place.
Five Go Off to Camp was created in 1948.
Scout's ability to read and write at a young age annoys her teacher Miss Caroline because it goes against the traditional teaching methods of the time. Miss Caroline may feel threatened by Scout's intelligence and interprets her skills as showing off, which disrupts the classroom dynamic. Additionally, Miss Caroline may not know how to properly challenge and engage Scout's advanced abilities within the context of her teaching style.

Scout did not want to go back to school because her teacher, Miss Caroline Fisher, did not understand that she was already able to read and write. Miss Caroline's lack of understanding made Scout feel misunderstood and frustrated.
