They can under certain situations like for arthiritis, fevers etc; but you should get a prescription from a doctor. I'm a teen and when I took it my whole face was numb and I had some disturbed dreams also, but it did help with my pain.

Yes, but no more than ONE tablet every 12 hours, and do not give it to anyone who had had an allergic reaction to any aspirin-containing product in the past. ibuprofen or Acetaminophen is a much safer choice.
