Best Answer

Only if he holds ownership of the deed.

Another Perspective

That issue should have been addressed in your divorce decree. Review it to see if you have any rights to stay on the property and also to see what disposition was made for the property. If necessary call the attorney who represented you at the time of your divorce.

Can ex husband take wife's inheritance in divorce?

It depends on where you are. If you're in the US, the answer is generally no. A husband has no right to his wife's inheritance as long as she keeps it separate from marital property.

tell your husband to marry his brother and divorce him get him for all you can since he wasnt true to that vow 'till death do us part' not till brother do us part thank your father for profiting and allowing you to take all the blame, you should shun your father and kick your ex husband out on the road for if he living with your parrents he is a leech anyways and go buy his brother a girly wig and a dress and tell your husband its over and have fun with your new wife

What is going on when your present husband is overly conversational with your ex-husband and you have to just stand there and watch?

It could depend on why these two men are even together talking and what the situation is. If you have children from your first marriage and your ex husband comes to see them or takes them for the weekend then I can see where your ex and your husband would start talking. Consider yourself lucky! If you have no children with your ex, then your ex should long ago have been out of your life and the only one keeping him there would be you. Just because you didn't get along with your ex (it's all about love/hate near the end of a marriage) doesn't mean he isn't a nice guy and your husband thinks he is and enjoys talking to him. You obviously have given no indication it bothers you. I think your ex and your husband are just two guys getting along, although I understand why this would make you uncomfortable. You are afraid your ex will divulge some private parts of your past marriage together to your husband. Not many of us would be comfortable in such a situation, but, it's time to realize that your husband has married you because he loves you and it doesn't matter what happened before if you've been honest with him from the beginning about your previous marriage. It really isn't unheard of that the ex and the husband get along while in the same room or the same crowd. Actually, you're lucky they do and it could be much worse. Still, it's time you told your husband it makes you uncomfortable and discuss this with him, then tell your ex it's time for him to move on other than possibly seeing his children.

What is the English word for husband's home?

In English we do not have a word for "husband's home." English-speakers don't distinguish between homes in that way. It sounds like you are talking about a word connected with the custom of the wife going to live in her husband's family home. English-language kinship terms are much more limited than, for example, those of Indian languages. We don't have as many special words for specific types of kinship relationships. If I want to refer to the house owned by my husband's family -- his parents' home -- I might call it my in-laws' home or my husband's "family home." If someone else is talking about it, they would just use the name of the family--e.g., the Smith family home (but then it would not be clear if that meant the husband named Smith or his father). You could just say "husband's house" or "husband's home," but that might be confusing, causing people to wonder why the husband would have a separate house from that of his wife (since in US culture a couple usually live in their own home, not with the husband's or wife's parents). That's why it might be better to say "husband's family home" or "husband's family's home."

In love with your ex-brother-in-law and have been divorced from his brother since 1983 is it ok and will his family and friends have a problem with us being together?

You could get married. They may or may not have a problem with it. That depends on how they look on your divorce and on you, and how you get on with your ex-husband. But do you really want to spend family holidays with your ex?
