This question cannot be answered with a simple yes or no, because certain other information is important to this question. If you have split with your partner and that person moved out of the house/apartment/residence, the first thing that comes to mind is that they no longer have any reason to go to the home. Your former partner moved out of the house, and presumably took all of their personal property when they left. Also presumably, they left their key to the house with you and no longer have a way to get in. The details that matter are things like: Who owns the property? Was it being purchased jointly? Was only one person paying for it? Was it being rented, and each party paid half? Was the couple married before? Are they now fully divorced? If so, who retains possession of the home and furniture? You must clarify the question with that sort of information before submitting it for an answer, or take what you can get for an answer! I hope this answer is helpful.

Parents of either spouse are not considered in a divorce. The house will be split between the two who are married in accordance with the laws of that state. The fact that the parent made contributions only indicates that he shared in some of the costs of the place he was living. That only seems reasonable and is not an entitlement to a share of the total value of the property! Come on!
