It's not really that your hair will just fall out instead it sheds. Your hair are adapted to what you do to it.
Your hair will shed a little once you start stretching relaxers, but it's for the good.
The best thing you can do is try preventing that from happening. Although you can't you can treat the hair fall while your hair is adapting to your new hair care regimen.
Follow these steps
Use a moisturizing shampoo.
Use a deep conditioner or deep conditioning treatment.
Do a hot oil treatment maybe once a week to stimulate your hairs growth, this also strengthens your hair.
Only clip split ends once & that's every time you get a fresh relaxer, since you are stretching your relaxers don't clip your ends as that is not the real length of your hair just yet since you are letting the new growth build.
Hair sheds no matter what, but you can try treating it as much as possible and that's to make sure your hair is clean, strong and healthy, resulting in less shedding hair.

The answer is yes & no. No matter if you have natural hair or relaxed hair if you don't take the time to properly care for it will be unhealthy. There are benefits to natural hair and relaxed hair but it really depends on your preference. Choose the option that best for you.

How do you go from relaxed hair to natural hair without cutting all the relaxed hair off?
What I recommend is that you braid your hair in single plaits (weave) that are not too small (ex: micros) and just keep wearing that style for about a year and a half. Then your hair should be more natural than permed. I did not cut my hair, but my friend who wanted to go natural also, did.
