People can not be forced to join the military. Joining the military requires you as an individual to sign a contract stating that you are joining under your own free will. Signing your contract is also done at a processing center known as MEPS. Your parents would not be with you at this time and it would be the perfect opportunity for you to inform one of the enlisted members.
