I don't think you can freeze to may kinds of seafood ....i have been looking it up on the net because my husband is a lobster fishermen and we have been looking for ways to freeze his catch ....but all i come up with is you must cook it first then store the lobster.... If anyone know about storing live lobster please share
All seafood must be killed and gutted and cleaned before freezing. If you freeze them live, the contents of the gut will contaminate the flesh. If you cryovac them, they don't have to be cooked. It's especially important to clean bottom feeders as they pick up the most contaminants.Heavy metals sink.
Yes they become unconscios and die, it is a better way of killing them then boiling them alive. Lobsters have a complex nervous system and feel the same way as your 3 year old daughter feels if you were to dip her in boiling water. They may be just animals but then again so are we.
why not, id give it a go, but it wont be alive for long!!!!
Before people cook lobster they freeze it - while it's alive. They do that so when they boil it the lobster it doesn't feel as much pain.
not if you are going to cook it immediately, otherwise yes.
Yes im sure you can
can you freeze live lobster
yes
if you freeze a fish and thaw it soon enough it might live. some animals can survive if u freeze them. e.g. a lobster will come back to life if u thaw it
Fresh Fish - Live Lobster = Red Lobster
One can buy a live lobster in multiple places in Toronto. However, one should buy a live lobster at Bill's Lobster Fish Market. It is located at 599 Gerrard Street East in Toronto.
crayfish is the name of the fresh water lobster. In a sense yes a lobster could be considered an ocean crayfish. They are found in bodies of water that do not freeze to the bottom; they are also mostly found in brooks and streams where there is fresh water running, and which have shelter against predators.
There are a few ways, you can deep freeze the Lobster, this puts the Lobster to sleep and shuts down its systems so when you 'kill' it will not feel a thing or you can place the Lobster in a large pot of cold water then bring the water to the boil, this puts the Lobster to sleep and a painless death follows. Some drop the Lobster into rapidly boiling water the Lobster dies instantly.
